DBA 2013 Design Effectiveness Awards

Bath Rugby website

Some great news recently was hearing that two websites I’ve been involved in have gone on to win DBA Design Effectiveness Awards!

Both websites were worked on during my time at Positive, and were all very much a team effort, but I’d like to hope that my small contribution to these projects helped clinch the win!

The Bath Rugby suite of websites (main website, mobile, online shop), which I did the IA and UX for (as well some of the front end build) won a Gold award which is fantastic news. It’s an especially good feeling as we had an incredibly tight deadline so pretty much killed ourselves to get it done on time! Glad it was worth it. There’s some great stats to back up the win; an increase in newsletter subscriptions of 337%, from 8,000 to 35,000, ticket purchasing increased by 28% per match and online shop sales showing an increase of 35%.

Similarly the Hope and Homes website I developed the IA and UX for scooped a Silver award. It’s great that this is doing so well as its for a charity that change the lives of children – a very worthy cause. Since launch the website returned a 122% increase in individual donations year-on-year, regular giving increased by 162% and the charity was awarded a £240,000 grant. Visits to the website increased by 69% in the first five months – and all for a fantastic cause!

The guys have written some great case study’s for Bath Rugby and Hope and Homes where you can learn more.

Congratulations to the excellent team at Positive for this well deserved win!
